Inspired by Lucie’s post to get my versions of these up onto the blog. They’re from the book “Edward’s Menagerie” by Kerry Lord which my mum gave me for Christmas just over a year ago. I actually started crocheting from it pretty soon after receiving it, (it came at an opportune time, just as my friends and family started having babies) but didn’t want to a separate post for each one. This is a bits and bobs sort of post, just to put down all the bits and bobs of things I’ve been doing that have been flying around in my head since the last post. Unfortunately none of them is in a finished enough state enough to warrant a full post all to itself yet, but just in case you thought I’ve been getting lazy in my sewing or knitting, here’s a little proof that I haven’t.
My sewing machine has spent more time in its case than out recently, due to a few emergency birthday jumpers. Two are nearly finished (for the two birthdays coming up,) but the one for the birthday that was in June in still in pending. That’s just how I do things. Ok, so now that the one that was a surprise present has been given, I can put my first and second crochet projects up here. In line with my attitude of not ever taking the easy route, my introduction to crochet was constructed in double crochet, with magic circles, increases and decreases galore. No doubt simple stuff to a seasoned crochet-er, but I spent more than I wanted on roaming charges while I was in Italy by scouring t’internet for crochet diagrams.
